Russian distributors began to change supply channels after Kazakhstan announced that it was tightening controls on parallel imports to Russia. As a result of changing routes, household appliances may rise in price by 10-12% for end customers. Kommersant was told about this in logistics companies.
Household appliances for parallel import to Russia began to be imported from China, Kyrgyzstan and the United Arab Emirates. According to distributors, it will be unprofitable to deliver equipment to the country under the new conditions. The tightening of control in Kazakhstan will also complicate the import of equipment from Uzbekistan, Kommersant’s sources in the logistics market say. As a result, it will be unprofitable to import equipment of world brands to Russia, this niche will be occupied by Chinese manufacturers.
At the end of 2022, trade between Russia and Kazakhstan increased by $2 billion, to $26 billion, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry reported. Since April 1, a system for monitoring imported goods to Russia has been launched in Kazakhstan. The country’s authorities said they would not allow their jurisdiction to be used to circumvent sanctions against Russia.
