The court prohibited Siemens from continuing proceedings with Russian Railways in the courts of Bavaria – Kommersant

The Moscow Arbitration Court satisfied the claim of Russian Railways OJSC to prohibit the German Siemens Mobility GmbH from initiating and continuing legal proceedings in the Higher Regional Court of Munich and the Supreme Regional Court of Bavaria. We are talking about disputes arising from the contract dated December 17, 2014 for the maintenance and repair of the hydraulic braking, sorting and hump control system at the Luzhskaya station in the Leningrad region.
“The claim is satisfied in full,” says the file on website court. Details of the proceedings are not disclosed.
Siemens announced its withdrawal from Russia in May 2022. As of May 13, the concern terminated all service contracts with Russian Railways, including maintenance of Sapsa aircraft. The refusal to comply provoked a wave of lawsuits from Russian Railways against its partner under numerous contracts with Siemens Mobility – in particular, from 2007, from 2011 on the maintenance and commissioning of 294 electric trains, from 2014 on the Luzhskaya station, from 2019 on the supply 13 Sapsan aircraft and their maintenance costing €1.1 billion.
For each day of non-fulfillment of obligations, the court imposed a fine on Siemens. The concern filed complaints with the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and demanded that the cases be considered in foreign authorities. Russian Railways responded by filing a claim with the Moscow Arbitration Court against Siemens Mobility for a ban on initiating legal proceedings.
