The court granted Baltika the right to use Carlsberg beer brands

The Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region upheld the claim of Baltika Brewing Company LLC against Carlsberg Breweries A/S and declared illegal the latter’s unilateral refusal of license agreements for the production and sale of beer brands Holsten, Tuborg, Kronenbourg and Seth & Riley’s Garage. Carlsberg reported on the termination of licensing agreements with Baltika in October. “Baltika” filed a lawsuit to invalidate the Danish company’s decision. On October 23, the St. Petersburg Arbitration Court prohibited Rospatent from terminating Baltika’s licenses for the Seth & Riley`s Garage, Holsten, Kronenbourg and Tuborg brands.
Carlsberg Group intended to leave the Russian market and sell its Baltika Breweries. At the end of June, Carlsberg Group announced that it had completed its search for an investor for Baltika. July 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which the shares of foreign companies in Baltika passed into the temporary possession of the Federal Property Management Agency. In response, Carlsberg terminated licensing agreements and statedand that the Russian authorities stole the company’s business.
