The World Court in Moscow fined the Wikimedia Foundation (owner of the Wikipedia encyclopedia) 3 million rubles. Roskomnadzor demanded that the fund remove the article “Russian occupation of the Kharkiv region” from the resource.
“Find the Wikimedia Foundation guilty under Part 2 of Art. 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure to delete information or a web page by the owner of the site if the obligation to delete is provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation) and impose a fine in the amount of 3 million rubles, ”Judge Timur Vakhrameev announced the decision (quote from TASS).
Wikimedia Foundation representative Alexander Ganzer was not present at the meeting. The company itself told Reuters that the information that became the subject of the proceedings “was obtained from reliable sources and met the standards” of the encyclopedia.
