The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow fined MegaFon for incorrectly age-labeling a film with an LGBT scene. The amount of the administrative fine is 1 million rubles. Telegram-channel “Caution, news”.
The protocol against MegaFon was compiled by Roskomnadzor based on the results of an audit that took place in March. The reason for drawing up the protocol was the incorrect labeling of the romantic comedy Love, Love, Love posted on the Megafon TV service. The picture was rated “16+”, not “18+”.
During the court session, representatives of MegaFon stated that they had changed the labeling of the film to “18+” back in February. They also noticed that the film’s rental certificate still has a 16+ mark.
As Beware the News points out, there is no demonstration of LGBT relationships in the film Love Love Love itself. The film features three short stories: about love, devotion and fidelity between couples and friends. In one of the scenes, the heroine mentions that she has a wife, and another woman says that her husband has left for another man.
On June 29, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow fined MegaFon for 1 million rubles. for not labeling a film with LGBT scenes. Then the reason was the display of five films by the MegaFon TV service: “Bridget Jones. The Edge of Reason”, “Perfect Strangers”, “The English Barber”, “Three More Weddings” and “Greed”.
As of July 7, 2023 Roskomnadzor in total made up 32 protocols to online cinemas due to the distribution of films with demonstrations of LGBT people without marking “18+”. Currently, fines have been imposed on Tricolor Kino and TV Online, Premier, Start and Kinopoisk. Administrative protocols have also been drawn up in relation to Wink, Okko, Movix, More.tv, Ivi, Beeline TV services.
