The Tverskoy Court of Moscow found MegaFon guilty under an article about an LGBT demonstration. The protocol was issued to the company due to the screening of films without marking “18+”. The court fined Megafon PJSC for showing five films by the Megafon TV service: “Bridget Jones. The Edge of Reason”, “Perfect Strangers”, “The English Barber”, “Three More Weddings” and “Greed”.
An administrative fine was issued to the company in accordance with Part 2 of Article 6.21.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Dissemination among minors of information demonstrating non-traditional sexual relations and (or) preferences or capable of causing minors to desire to change their sex.” She appeared in the Code of Administrative Offenses at the end of last year.
According to a similar protocol, on the same day, the Cheryomushkinsky Court of Moscow fined online cinema Start for 3.7 million rubles. The streaming case also features the Italian film Perfect Strangers.
Most Russian online cinemas are currently embroiled in legal proceedings over LGBT demonstrations. Now Roskomnadzor has drawn up protocols for 19 streaming out of 23 existing in Russia.
