The specified cost of the implementation of the second stage of the development of the Eastern test site (includes BAM and Trans-Siberian Railway) is 1 trillion 82 billion rubles, said Sergey Kobzev, First Deputy General Director of Russian Railways. Based on this, the preliminary forecast cost of implementing the entire investment project will be approximately 1 trillion 82 billion rubles, and at present this work is almost completed in terms of documentary design and estimate support for this construction site, ”— said Mr. Kobzev during a meeting in the Federation Council on the implementation of the project (quote from “Interfax”).
He also said that the project provides for the construction of 1,380 km of main tracks, 29 sidings, the reconstruction of 29 stations, the construction of a bypass of the Shkotovo-Smolyaninovo sections in the Vladivostok region, the electrification of the Volochaevka-Komsomolsk-on-Amur-Vanino section, and the strengthening of traction power supply devices for already electrified sections Transsib and BAM.
The current phase of the program runs until 2024. The goal of the modernization is to increase the annual carrying capacity of the BAM and the Trans-Siberian Railway to 180 million tons in 2024.
Earlier, interlocutors in the industry told Kommersant that after the completion of the second stage of the expansion of the Eastern landfill, the Ministry of Transport proposes to further increase its throughput to 255 million tons per year by 2031-2032.
