The structure of the South African holding Naspers-Prosus has entered into an agreement with Kismet Capital Group, the former head of MegaFon, Ivan Tavrin, to sell a stake in the Russian service for placing ads Avito for 151 billion rubles.
AT press release Naspers says the deal will close in October. The interaction between Avito and Kismet will be focused “on maintaining the current long-term strategy for the development of the platform.” The current team led by Vladimir Pravdivy will continue to manage the company.
Mr. Tavrin said that Avito is a “strategic asset” for Kismet Capital Group, which fully meets the “principles of investing in high-tech market leaders with potential for further growth.”
Investment company Prosus started looking for a buyer on Avito since May. As Bloomberg reported, citing sources, the Internet company VK and a structure associated with businessman Vladimir Potanin showed interest in the Russian ad service.
