Banks and microfinance organizations are recommended to give credit holidays to citizens who have fallen under partial mobilization. This is stated in message Central Bank.

“Citizens mobilized in accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation may apply to their bank or microfinance organization (MFI) for a deferral of payments or a reduction in their size for all types of loans, including mortgages, and loans for the period of mobilization,” it said. in a statement on the regulator’s website.

Banks and MFIs are also advised not to accrue forfeits (fines and penalties) under agreements, not to demand early fulfillment of obligations, to suspend the collection of overdue debts or mortgage housing, and not to evict from mortgage housing that were previously foreclosed.

Credit holidays will also be provided to close relatives of borrowers who are under partial mobilization, if they are dependent on them.

Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma committee on the financial market, said that the Duma would prepare a bill that would take into account the holding of a special military operation in providing mortgage holidays. Now citizens who find themselves in a difficult life situation (a drop in income by more than 30%) can apply for mortgage holidays for a period of six months.

“I think that in the course of finalizing this bill, we will also take into account a special military operation, we will develop mechanisms for additional protection for the guys who find themselves in this situation, and if they have a mortgage loan, then, accordingly, they will somehow be protected by law” , – Mr. Aksakov said at a press conference (quote from Interfax).

He added that those who took out a mortgage loan and found themselves in the zone of a special military operation “should be calm that this will not place a new burden on his family.”
