The Central Bank (CB) has launched an educational project on how not to become a victim of scammers. This project, called Rublerost, mimics the site of a financial pyramid, according to press release regulator.
The Central Bank explained that the site contains all the most popular tricks of scammers. This project “helps you understand and remember what to look for if you are promised high income with minimal effort,” the regulator said.
The website of the project says that seven of the most popular tricks are hidden there, which are purely used by the creators of financial pyramids. In particular, Rublerost promises “up to 500% profit tomorrow”. The site also provides reviews of people who allegedly received money – from 250 thousand rubles. up to 1.5 million rubles per month.
In 2022, the Central Bank revealed in Russia there are about 5 thousand companies with signs of illegal activity against 2.7 thousand a year earlier. About 2 thousand of them turned out to be pyramids. To combat them, the regulator decided to allow attracting investments from the population only to organizations supervised by it.
