The Central Bank approved the list of systemically important credit institutions

The Central Bank (CB) of Russia has approved a list of systemically important credit institutions. This was stated in a press release on website regulator
The list includes 13 organizations that have already had the status of systemically important for the previous two years. Among them: Sberbank (MOEX: SBER), VTB (MOEX: VTBR), Gazprombank, Otkritie, Rosselkhozbank, Promsvyazbank, Alfa Bank, MKB (MOEX: CBOM), Sovcombank, Tinkoff Bank (MOEX: TCSG), Unicredit Bank, Raiffeisenbank, Rosbank.
These organizations, as stated in the Central Bank’s statement, account for about 78% of the total assets of the Russian banking sector. The list of systemically important organizations includes banks whose work is considered most important for maintaining the stability of the country’s banking system.
Last time Central Bank expanded list in 2021. Then the regulator included Tinkoff Bank in it.
The Central Bank’s plans included clarifying the criteria according to which a bank could be classified as systemically important, as well as introducing differentiated capital allowances, which today are set at 1% for everyone.
