Business price expectations grew for the second month in a row and exceeded the average values ​​for 2021-2022, follows from the August monitoring of the Bank of Russia. Their growth was observed in all industries. Price expectations rose to 22.6 points, adding 5.2 points, in July they did not exceed 2021–2022 averages.

Enterprise monitoring covers more than 14 thousand enterprises in all Russian regions.

August versus July accelerated an increase in selling prices for products, most strongly in the trade in motor vehicles. For the first time since August 2022, current prices in agriculture increased. Most enterprises linked the rise in prices with the change in the ruble exchange rate.

In August, the growth of enterprises’ costs accelerated in all sectors, except for the electric power industry. The most strongly increased costs at the enterprises of trade, transportation and storage. One of the main reasons was the rise in the cost of materials against the background of the weakening of the ruble, as well as the growth of logistics costs and the price of fuels and lubricants.

In August, valuations for manufacturing companies fell for the second month in a row, moving into negative territory for the first time since February 2023. Interfax. Their decrease was observed in almost all industries.

In July, business price expectations rose after their decrease in the previous two months, not exceeding the 2021-2022 averages. They rose to 17.7 points (+2 points).

Earlier, the Bank of Russia at an extraordinary meeting of the Board of Directors raised the key rate to 12% per annum. The decision was made against the backdrop of increasing inflationary pressures.
