Yandex may have a new parent company. A specially created structure, which will include the current top management of Yandex, will be responsible for making key decisions in it. This structure will be headed by the head of the Accounts Chamber Alexei Kudrin, writes The Bell, citing sources.
The interlocutor of the publication, familiar with the course of negotiations, claims that the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with Kudrin, at which issues related to Yandex will be discussed, may take place as early as November 24. Another source says the talks could take place this or next week.
If the reorganization of the Yandex business takes place, then the company will have a new parent company registered in Russia, The Bell sources suggest. It is expected that it will be controlled by a new structure headed by Kudrin. It will also include the current top management of Yandex, said a source close to the company.
Previously Forbes wrotethat the co-founder of “Yandex” Arkady Volozh offered Kudrin 5% of the IT company if he helped him share Russian and international assets. According to The Bell, Volozh intends develop a number of the company’s projects abroad, including the development of drones, “cloud” and educational service “Yandex.Practice”.
