The Bashkir Theater canceled a performance based on the book by Guzel Yakhina because of her attitude to the SVO

The Bashkir Academic Drama Theater named after Mazhit Gafuri removed from the repertoire the play based on the novel “Zuleikha opens her eyes” by Guzeli Yakhina, a message about this was published on its website. As clarifies RBCsuch a decision was made after the appearance of Yakhina’s anti-war post in social networks.
The theater’s message cites Yakhina’s post and states that “Due to the fact that the opinion of the theater workers does not coincide with the opinion of the author, a decision was made to remove the above performance from the repertoire.”
A brief statement from the cultural institution also notes that they “are called upon to promote spiritual values that are common to the Russian people,”
According to individual mass mediathe decision to withdraw the performance followed quite unexpectedly – all tickets were even sold out earlier.
