The Bank of Russia filed a lawsuit against Qiwi Bank JSC, it follows from data files of the Moscow Arbitration Court. The application was submitted on March 14 on behalf of the main department of the Bank of Russia for the Central Federal District. Other details of the claim are unknown, the date of the hearing has not been specified.
On March 4, the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA), on behalf of Qiwi Bank, filed a claim against its owners – Qiwi JSC, the Hong Kong company Fusion Factor Fintech Limited and Qiwi. The DIA intends to challenge the purchase and sale agreement for shares of JSC Qiwi. The Moscow Arbitration Court left the claim pending until April 5 due to unpaid state fees. According to card index court, hearings on the claim will be held on April 2 and 16, since payment violations have been eliminated.
In January 2024, the Qiwi group sold the Russian assets of Qiwi JSC (including Qiwi Bank) to the Hong Kong company Fusion Factor Fintech Limited of the former chief executive officer of Qiwi plc Andrei Protopopov. The transaction amount was 23.75 billion rubles. On February 21, the Central Bank revoked Qiwi Bank’s license to conduct banking operations. Currently, Qiwi Bank is managed by a temporary administration, its functions are assigned to the DIA.
