The average check of “tax errors” of companies in Moscow in the first half of 2023 amounted to 95 million rubles, said Natalya Natalyuk, deputy head of the consulting department of ACG “Pravovest Audit”. Such an amount, including penalties and fines, organizations pay after one field audit of the Federal Tax Service (FTS). Compared to the same period last year, it increased by 13% (85 million rubles). At the same time, the number of such checks in the capital is declining, the expert said.

During a speech at a conference “Audit and consulting + assessment: trends, forecasts, half-year results”organized by Kommersant, Mrs. Nataliuk led data FTS and for 2022 in Russia. According to them, the total number of field tax audits of organizations increased by 30% year-on-year, the average check in the Russian Federation in 2022 increased by 39% and amounted to 75 million rubles. It follows from the statistics that in Moscow the amount was slightly more than in the first half of 2023: 97 million rubles.

Viktoria Varlamova, head of the consulting department at Pravovest Audit, said that, according to a survey of her clients, most of them conduct audits for “an outsider’s view” – “suddenly something is wrong with the accounting department” (57%). “But at the same time, by “something is wrong with the accounting”, they primarily understood: what do we have with taxes there?” — said the expert. According to her, some companies were not worried about how much they could be charged extra, but how much they were paying. She said that according to the results of the first half of the year, the demand for “insurance against tax claims” has increased – a guarantee that the company will share responsibility for taxes with the auditor in the event of claims from the Federal Tax Service.

Ms. Varlamova noted that most of the risks for companies arise from the fact that they incorrectly draw up tax documents, for example, do not substantiate employee bonuses.

In 2022, the Federal Tax Service conducted 10,191 field tax audits of legal entities, individual entrepreneurs and individuals, informed RBC with reference to the report of the service. According to the results of inspections, taxpayers must pay 685.7 billion rubles to the budget, which is 81% more than in 2021.
