Sergey Kuznetsov, the author of the hits of the Laskovy May group, has died. The death of the composer at the age of 59 was announced by a member of the group Andrei Gurov.
Sergei Kuznetsov was born on January 6, 1964 in the city of Mednogorsk, Orenburg Region. After serving in the army, he led a music circle at boarding school No. 2 in Orenburg.
Together with Vyacheslav Ponomarev, they decided to create a teenage musical group. For a long time they were looking for a soloist, who, according to Kuznetsov’s plan, should have been 12-13 years old. They became Yura Shatunov, who at that time was a pupil of the Akbulak orphanage.
On December 28, 1986, the first performance of the Laskovy May group took place. Kuznetsov’s songs became hits: “White Roses”, “Pink Evening”, “Gray Night”, etc.
In 2016, the media became aware that the composer was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver.
Two days ago, in his native Orenburg, he held a concert in memory of the deceased Yuri Shatunov.
