“I didn’t even know what kind of card it was”

Became known the details of yesterday’s scandal at the Moscow Art Theater. Gorky, where a whole group of spectators could not get to the play “Yesenin’s Women” due to the fact that tickets were bought on the Pushkin card. In total, about 70 people became victims of the scam, and the police had to intervene in the case.

The MK correspondent talked to one of the visitors who was turned around at the entrance. According to the girl, she came to the theater with two friends, all a little over 35. All three tickets were purchased through acquaintances who supposedly know when theaters throw out discount tickets.

The avid theatergoer often used the services of her friends, and more than once, with the tickets bought from them, she went to eminent theaters in Moscow. One ticket with a face value of 4,500 rubles cost 2,800 rubles at a discount. It was purchased on the kassir.ru platform. It is worth noting that in order to purchase tickets on this resource using the Pushkin card, you must enter personal data, for this there is a separate payment method.

– At the entrance, the controller scanned the electronic ticket and asked: did you buy a ticket using the Pushkin card? I didn’t even know what card it was. He asked to see his passport, and said that he could not let us in, because we are all over 22 years old, – the visitor said.

In total, dozens of people faced this problem. There was a huge crowd in the theater lobby. The audience began to get nervous and complain that they were not allowed into the theater, although tickets were bought, but not on the official website, but on third-party resources. Someone in the crowd said that he had bought counterfeits in various telegram channels.

To the dissatisfied spectators came the general director of the Moscow Art Theater. Gorky Vladimir Kekhman. He explained that spectators who bought such tickets could not be allowed into the theater legally. All of them were purchased using the Pushkin card, which is intended for schoolchildren and students from 14 to 22 years old. Officially, tickets for the performance were sold at a price of 4.5 to 10 thousand rubles.

According to the audience, the theater representatives refused to return the money on the spot. Indignant citizens called the police and wrote a collective statement asking them to look into the problem.

We will remind, earlier “MK” reported that the Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating a criminal case on embezzlement of budget funds with the help of the “Pushkin Card” program in the amount of 200 million rubles by organizing a mass purchase of tickets.
