Telecom operator Tele2 notified customers of an increase in tariffs from January 2024 by more than 10%. About it “Vedomosti” said three subscribers who received messages from the operator about price changes. A Tele2 representative told the publication that the adjustments will only affect archived tariffs.

“Starting January 2, 2024, the monthly fee for communication services, taking into account the individual discount, will increase by 65 rubles. per month. The changes will be applied on the day of the next debit,” says the operator in a message received by one of the subscribers. Vedomosti’s interlocutor clarified that according to his “Everywhere Online 04_2020” tariff, starting from January, the payment will increase from 560 rubles. up to 625 rub.

According to a Tele2 representative, the decision to adjust prices was made only in relation to archived tariffs. However, he noted that the operator reviews prices no more than once a year in order to bring the cost into line with the market level. “All Tele2 tariffs open for connection and transfer remain unchanged. They are protected from price increases: the current cost of these tariffs is frozen until the end of 2025,” a representative of the operator clarified.

Tele2 notified the FAS about the planned tariff increase, a representative of the operator indicated. The department told Vedomosti that it would analyze the information received. If violations of antimonopoly legislation are detected, the FAS will take response measures, the agency representative added.

On September 18, the FAS demanded that the Big Four (in addition to Tele2, it includes MTS, MegaFon and VimpelCom) cancel the fee for distributing the Internet from mobile devices. The agency threatened operators with cases of violating antimonopoly laws. All companies agreed cancel the fee for unlimited distribution of mobile Internet.

At the end of November, the Ministry of Digital Development developed a project to increase the maximum maximum prices for connection and traffic transmission services provided to operators by Rostelecom. The agency proposed raising traffic prices by an average of 10% due to “economic changes in the last two years.”
