Roskomnadzor filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation to terminate the activities of the media – the electronic periodical “Information Agency “Khakassia””. This follows from the administrative case card on website court. The defendants are LLC “Information Agency “Khakassia”” and the editorial office of the electronic periodical “Information Agency “Khakassia””. The first meeting is scheduled for January 22, 2024.
The essence of the department’s claims to the media is unknown. The owner and editor-in-chief of Khakassia, Valentina Ustyakhina, did not answer Kommersant’s call. Kommersant sent a request to Roskomnadzor about the content of the claim.
Information Agency “Khakassia” LLC is the founder of the news agency. The media registration certificate was received in 2006. According to SPARK-Interfax, Ms. Ustyakhina is also the founder and director of the LLC. The company’s net profit in 2022 amounted to about 2 million rubles. The Khakassia news agency was recognized as the best media outlet in the republic.
In 2023, Khakassia News Agency actively covered the campaign for the elections of the head and parliament of the region. On November 29, the news agency reported that the Supreme Council of Khakassia, which controls United Russia as a result of this campaign, did not issue accreditation to the publication and its correspondent was not allowed to attend the session. “Now we invite those media outlets that, at the discretion of our press service, have sufficient qualifications and sufficient endurance in meaningful coverage of events that take place in the Supreme Council, which are not, as we say, the yellow press,” said then the speaker of the republican parliament Sergei Falcon.
