Russia and Pakistan are discussing technical details of a future long-term oil supply contract, said Pakistani Ambassador to the Russian Federation Muhammad Khalid Jamali. In his opinion, there are no difficulties in this issue.
Negotiations are taking place both at the government level and at the level of private companies. “I don’t think there are any difficulties in the negotiations on a long-term contract; technical details are currently being discussed, including the issue of payment, volume of purchases and other things,” said Mr. Jamali “RIA News”.
When asked what currencies could be used to pay for Russian energy supplies, the ambassador said that “all options” were being considered. He noted that “historically, we previously had barter trade.” “The issue of payment will definitely be resolved; now all options are on the table,” the diplomat added.
According to Kommersant, the Russian Federation is expanding oil supplies to Pakistan, sending the third batch this year. The only supplier is Surgutneftegaz. A long-term contract has been discussed for several months.
