Stavropol health resorts predict loading up to 100% on New Year’s holidays

According to statistics from the Ministry of Tourism and Health Resorts of the Stavropol Territory, a significant increase in tourist flow is predicted in the Stavropol Territory in the winter season. The load of the sanatorium-resort and tourist complex of the region for December 2022 and the New Year holidays, according to the department, is 90%, and in the leading sanatoriums up to 100%, which is 21% more than the same period last year.
An increase in the number of holiday-goers is also noted in the first nine months of the year. During this period, the sanatoriums of the Caucasian Mineralnye Vody received a total of about 1 million visitors. According to the Ministry of Tourism of the Territory, the loading of resorts exceeded by 1.1% even the pre-pandemic figures of 2019, when 1.6 million people rested at the resorts of the CMS.
The press service of Kislovodsk Resort Management (Holding) LLC confirmed to Kommersant that by January 10, 2023, more than 95% of rooms have been booked in trade union health resorts. According to the press service of the holding, in 2022 the average occupancy of sanatoriums was higher than the pre-pandemic 2019 and amounted to more than 60% of the room stock.
At the moment, vacationers in the Stavropol Territory are ready to accept 617 collective and specialized accommodation facilities. At the same time, they can accommodate more than 51 thousand people. This includes 125 health resort organizations for 34,251 beds and 492 hotels for 17,683 beds. The cost of accommodation in sanatoriums, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Resorts of the Stavropol Territory, practically did not grow in 2022.
However, according to the forecasts of industry experts, already in 2023 the price of vouchers may increase by an average of 10% due to rising costs for utility bills, household chemicals, and food.
As experts told Kommersant, due to the reorientation of some Russians to holidays within the country, the load of sanatoriums this year turned out to be higher than before the pandemic. This made it possible for the owners of some objects to raise prices by 30-40%. But sanatoriums in regions where there are restrictions on air travel, on the contrary, had to reduce the cost of living. The airport in Minvody has remained one of the few open in the south of Russia; restrictions apply to the Stavropol airport.
