State Duma deputy from United Russia Alexander Yakubovsky sent a request to Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov with a request to check marketplaces for the sale of pneumatic weapons, aerosol self-defense devices, rubber batons, etc. to minors. Vedomosti got acquainted with a copy of the request. In it, the deputy gives an example: pneumatic guns and various devices are presented at the Wildberries site, the power of which can be increased to a level above 3.5 J. Such guns, in his opinion, are already considered weapons and should be registered, and sellers of such equipment should have corresponding license.
Such goods should be sold only to adults, but marketplaces do not set restrictions on the age of the buyer, Yakubovsky points out in the request. In this regard, he asks “to give a legal assessment of whether such sales comply with the requirements of Russian legislation”, as well as to create an interdepartmental working group with the participation of representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Duma, etc., in order to develop amendments to the legislation that will limit the circulation of such products in the Internet. The Prosecutor General’s Office did not respond to Vedomosti’s request.
