The Moscow Magistrate’s Court registered an administrative offense report against Sportmaster LLC under the article on the leakage of users’ personal data (part 1 of article 13.11), follows from the court file.
The maximum fine that a company can receive is 100,000 rubles.
The court session is scheduled for April 4, 2023 in the 52nd judicial district of the world court in Moscow.
At the beginning of the year, it became known that Roskomnadzor was checking information about the leakage of personal data of Sportmaster store customers.
On January 1, 2023, the retailer’s press office confirmed the leak. “On December 31, an archive with the data of Sportmaster’s clients was published in one of the Telegram channels. Names, dates of birth, phone numbers and email addresses were at the disposal of the attackers. Based on the results of the study of the archive, it was confirmed that the incident does not affect user logins and passwords, payment information, as well as employee credentials, ”the representative of the Sportmaster press service said at the time. He added that, according to the analysis, the data could be from 2019.
Changes to the law “On Personal Data” came into force last fall. Now the operator who leaked is obliged to independently report the incident to Roskomnadzor within 24 hours, after which, within 72 hours, provide the department with the results of an internal investigation.
