Soyuzmultfilm demanded that marketplaces remove counterfeit Cheburashka from sale

The Soyuzmultfilm film studio turned to the online retailers Ozon and Wildberries with a demand to remove counterfeit products with the image of Cheburashka from sale. About it reported in the press service of Soyuzmultfilm, TASS reports.

“At present, the Soyuzmultfilm film studio has sent an appeal to the Ozon and Wildberries marketplaces with a demand to remove counterfeit products placed in the catalogs,” the film studio said.

The press service emphasized that the classic characters, the rights to which belong to the film studio, should “remain at a high level, any use of images should take place within the framework of the current legislation.” The company clarified that this approach will also avoid “arbitrary visual interpretations and integrations of the heroes of famous animated films.”

Earlier Telegram channel Shot informedthat after the release of “Cheburashka” on movie screens, offers appeared on Russian marketplaces for the sale of children’s toys in the form of the main character of the cartoon at high prices. In particular, sellers raised prices for these products from 800 rubles. up to 9000 rub. At the same time, the quality of toys was at a low level. “Crooked muzzles with torn off ears and fur doused with glue,” the Telegram channel said. Soyuzmultfilm emphasized that these toys have nothing to do with the film studio.

Cheburashka was released on wide release on January 1, 2023. Sergey Garmash, Elena Yakovleva, Fedor Dobronravov and others played the main roles in the film, and Cheburashka himself was drawn using computer graphics, voiced by Olga Kuzmina.
