Sollers wants to unite automakers to jointly produce components

The Sollers Group is going to propose to Russian automakers the creation of an investment consortium for the joint development of the production of components missing in the country. Nikolai Sobolev, General Director of the company, spoke about this at the profile session of the SPIEF with the participation of representatives of the automotive industry. Corresponding proposals to car factories will be sent “in the near future,” he later specified to journalists.

“In Russia, a number of critical technologies in the automotive industry are missing, and in order to introduce them, economies of scale are needed. In this regard, the cooperation of automakers is important. Until recently, OEMs did not really agree among themselves on the part of joint work on the localization of certain critical components,” the top manager noted.
