Boeing raises forecast for aircraft deliveries until 2042

American aircraft manufacturer Boeing has raised its annual forecast for new aircraft deliveries over the next 20 years. The company expects carriers to purchase 42,595 aircraft by 2042, writes Reuters, citing report Boeing.

Boeing forecast demand for 41,170 aircraft, according to last year’s report. At the same time, the company’s expectations were lower than the forecast published in 2021. Then, taking into account demand from Russia, it was about 43,610 new aircraft.

Boeing plans to sell 7,440 wide-body aircraft, 1,810 regional aircraft and 925 cargo aircraft between now and 2042. New single-aisle aircraft will account for more than 75% of all new deliveries, slightly above the 2022 forecast, with a total of 32,420 aircraft sold. It is expected that about half of the new deliveries will replace obsolete models.

According to the airline concern, China will account for 20% of the market, another 22% of demand will be provided by other Asian countries. In general, the demand for new aircraft, according to the report, is estimated at $8 trillion.

Boeing’s forecast for last year, as Bloomberg wrote, ruled out any potential deliveries to buyers in Russia, which, after the start of a special operation in Ukraine and wide-ranging sanctions, is “virtually closed to the global aerospace market.” The company planned to sell more than 1,500 aircraft to the Russian market in 2021 within 20 years. Boeing vice president of commercial marketing Darren Hulst called the Russian Federation a “non-target market” for the aircraft manufacturer.
