Company “Sollersclosed a deal to buy Isuzu Rus, a subsidiary of the Japanese automaker Isuzu Motors. About it reported in the press service of Sollers.

“PAO”Sollers“announces the closing of a deal to acquire a 100% stake in Isuzu Rus JSC,” the statement said.

The company noted that after the purchase of Isuzu Rus, Sollers will supply spare parts for Isuzu trucks for warranty and service maintenance. In addition, Sollers intends to resume the work of the company’s assembly site in Ulyanovsk.

Earlier that the transaction for the purchase of Isuzu Rus shares was closed, reported Japanese agency Kyodo. According to the NHK television channel, the shares were transferred to Sollers on July 12.

The Isuzu assembly site began operating in Ulyanovsk in 2006. The auto concern was engaged in the production of pickups, trucks and special equipment. In 2021, it produced about 3,700 small and large trucks. Production in Russia accounted for about 1% of the company’s global production.

In the spring of 2022, Isuzu production in Russia was suspended as assembly kits stopped coming from Japan due to the imposition of sanctions against Russia. The fact that the concern could leave the country became known in September last year. Logistical problems were cited as possible reasons.
