The comedy “Slave-2”, released on January 1, earned 3.517 billion rubles, according to data from the UAIS State Cinema Fund at 13:00 Moscow time on January 27. The film came in second place in box office receipts in the entire history of Russian film distribution.
Previously, second place was occupied by the film “Avatar” (3.516 billion rubles, according to the “Film Distributor’s Bulletin”). First place – the film “Cheburashka” (released on January 1, 2023) and collected 6.787 billion rubles at the box office.
Newspaper “Vedomosti” notes that inflation helped the film “Slave-2” surpass Avatar. To date, the Russian film has been watched by 8.950 million viewers, which gives an average ticket price of 393 rubles. The audience of Avatar 14 years ago was 13.4 million, and the average ticket then cost 261 rubles. The average price increased by 50%, the publication notes.
