Skillbox: programming became the most popular additional education

The Skillbox educational platform has compiled a rating of the most popular areas in the segment of additional vocational education. New users in 2022 were most often interested in programming (38% increase). The second most popular was management (31%), the third was design (28%).
In programming, the most popular were back-end development programs (Python developer, 1C developer), as well as IT infrastructure programs (test engineer, cybersecurity specialist) and web development. Those interested in management often chose the course “Excel + Google Spreadsheets from zero to PRO”, and educational programs in finance and accounting were also in demand. Among design lovers, the most popular directions were graphic designer, web designer, commercial illustrator.
The top 5 popular destinations also included marketing (15% increase in demand) and games (12%). Direction courses were chosen by 8% of users. Overall, 70% of Skillbox users cited career change as their goal when choosing courses.
In 2022, the number of Russians who want to learn a new profession for themselves has increased, participants in the online education market note. Video game development and programming were among the professions cited by sector companies as the most in-demand.
