Russia will not limit the export of red caviar

A shortage of red caviar in Russia is not expected, so the Federal Agency for Fishery will not limit the export of this product from Russia. This was announced by the head of the Federal Agency for Fishery Ilya Shestakov.
“As for the ban, we refused it, taking into account the position of the Ministry of Agriculture,” Mr. Shestakov told reporters (quoted by RIA Novosti).
In his opinion, the coming year will be successful, the forecast for the catch will appear somewhere closer to April. The head of the Federal Agency for Fishery noted that the import of red caviar has significantly decreased, so a shortage is not expected.
In early September, Ilya Shestakov announced that his department had sent proposals to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture to limit the export of red fish and red caviar against the backdrop of a low catch forecast. At the end of October, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation decided not to limit the export of salmon, as it did not see a shortage of this product in the domestic market.
