Siemens Energy deletes tweet about ‘lonely’ Nord Stream turbine

Siemens Energy has deleted its Twitter post about the Nord Stream turbine that “stands alone”. The German company offered users to create a playlist for it on Spotify. The turbine is awaiting its return to Russia.
“We removed our tweet about the turbine, which caused some controversy. We realized that the tone and subject of the tweet were deemed inappropriate. This was not our intention and we apologize,” Siemens Energy tweeted. The company notes that from the first day of the entry of Russian troops into Ukraine, it condemns the actions of Moscow.
Nord Stream has been operating in a limited mode since June. Now its load does not exceed 20% of the planned capacity. Gazprom explains this by difficulties in maintaining equipment due to sanctions. So, one of the turbines was in Canada for a long time – Siemens Energy could not deliver it to Russia due to restrictions imposed by Ottawa. Germany and Canada have agreed to return equipment for Nord Stream, and now the turbine is located in Germany. Russia does not intend to take the device until it is given guarantees that it will be able to service the turbines without sanctions from the EU, Canada and the UK.
