The shopping and entertainment center “Vesna”, located on Novy Arbat in the center of Moscow, is put up for auction. This is stated on the website of the electronic trading platform “GIS Auctions”. The lot, as follows from the information published there, includes premises with a total area of 13,351 sq. m. This is almost the entire complex on Novy Arbat: according to Rosreestr, its total area is 14,800 square meters. m. The starting price of the center is 1.7 billion rubles, the auction will be held in early May.
The Vesna shopping complex opened in 2003, its owner was considered to be the structure of the ex-president of the Bank of Moscow, Andrei Borodin. This is confirmed by the data from the lot documentation. It says that the complex belongs to the Benom-M company, but Borodin is its actual owner. Against the businessman himself, as well as his former assistant Dmitry Akulinin, several criminal cases were initiated back in 2010, including on the fact of embezzlement of funds from the Bank of Moscow and “abuse of authority” for issuing a loan in the amount of 12.76 billion rubles. controlled by the same firm “Premier Estate”. Both entrepreneurs were then put on the international wanted list, but Borodin eventually received asylum in the UK. It was not possible to get comments from the Benom-M representative yesterday.
