Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport plans to reopen Terminal D in June 2024, which has been closed since 2022. All flights of the Pobeda low-cost carrier (part of the Aeroflot group) will be transferred to it (MOEX: AFLT)).
“Aeroflot, due to the expansion of its production program, plans to distribute flights of the group’s airlines between Terminals B, C and D in the summer season of 2024… Low-cost carrier Pobeda will transfer the entire flight program operated from Sheremetyevo Airport to Terminal D” , says in message companies.
The material indicates that flights of Aeroflot and its subsidiary Rossiya will continue to be served in terminals B and C. The decision, as the company clarified, is due to the growing passenger traffic of the carrier.
Sheremetyevo representative Anna Zakharenkova told reporters that the airport is preparing the infrastructure for the resumption of operation of terminal D.
Sheremetyevo closed Terminal D in March 2022 amid a decline in air traffic due to sanctions. Terminal F and Terminal E are also closed at the airport due to reconstruction – it has been closed since 2020.
