Severstal to develop software for metallurgy by 2026 – Kommersant

The project to develop IT solutions for metallurgy can be implemented by 2026, said Pavel Isaev, Deputy General Director for Relations with Business Associations, Unions and Unions of PJSC Severstal, at a joint session the Territory of Innovations project and Kommersant Publishing House as part of SPIEF-2023.

“With the support of the government, industrial centers of competence (ICC) have been created, Severstal is the head of one of them, Metallurgy. We are working with industry colleagues to create an enterprise management system on a domestic basis. We expect this project to be completed by 2026,” said Mr. Isaev.

According to him, the automation of processes in metallurgy requires serious study. “We will almost certainly close the software with our programming school, but automation – controllers, optics – requires deep study and, often, development anew. Our model used to assume “if it will be necessary – we will buy it”, but the world has changed. What was available yesterday is no longer available. We need to think about making it our own,” summed up Mr. Isaev.

In early June, the chairman of the board of directors of Severstal, Alexei Mordashov, announced that the company would allocate more than 1.6 billion rubles to develop a system for managing production processes in the metallurgy. own funds. At the beginning of the year, Severstal received a grant of over 1 billion rubles. from the Skolkovo Foundation for the development of two major projects in the field of import substitution of foreign software. The first – “MES Metallurgy” – is a production process control system that solves the problems of analyzing, synchronizing and coordinating the output of products from steelmaking to shipment of the final product. It is designed to replace the software of the German SAP, which left Russia. The second product is designed to optimize the planning of enterprises with a complex management system and an extensive supply chain.

As Kommersant previously wrote, to accelerate the transition of the Russian industry to domestic software, the White House is ready to facilitate access for systemically important developers to contracts of large customers – state-owned companies. The need to provide such preferences to IT businesses that are ready to invest in product development to meet customer requirements is explained by the fact that there are no longer enough budget grants for such projects. Among other considered developer support tools is assistance in attracting venture capital investment in IT industry areas.
