Severstal (MOEX: CHMF) announced plans to increase steel supplies to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in 2024 by 20%. The company’s press service wrote about this in its Telegram channel.
“For Severstal, after the closure of Western markets, the EAEU countries became one of the largest sales markets, and we intend to increase this cooperation: in 2024, increase steel supplies to the EAEU countries by approximately 20% to 600 thousand tons,” the statement says. .
The press service added that in 2015-2022, mutual trade between the EAEU countries grew from $44.5 billion to $83.3 billion (+87%). Trade turnover in 2022 increased by 15%.
On September 7, the head of Severstal’s investor relations department reported that the company supplies 90% of its products to the domestic market, 10% to other countries.
The day before, Severstal announced plans to build a complex for the production of iron ore pellets with a capacity of 10 million tons and a cost of 97 billion rubles. Construction will begin in January 2024, with launch scheduled for 2026.
