It is expected that construction of the new workshop will begin in January 2024, the launch is planned for 2026. Currently, the investment project is at the stage of developing engineering and basic design solutions.
The output volume, as follows from the message, of the new production complex will be 10 million tons per year. “As a result of the transition to higher quality raw materials after the construction of a complex for the production of iron ore pellets, Severstal will be able to gradually decommission the sintering machines of sintering shop No. 2, which have a negative impact on the environment,” the release quotes the words of Evgeniy, General Director of the Severstal Russian Steel Division Vinogradova.
The productivity of each conveyor will be 1,400 tons per hour, as follows from the technical specifications of the project, which Vedomosti reviewed. The new production facility will be located in sintering shop No. 3 of the plant on the western side, as specified in the assignment.
The pellet production workshop complex will include the main production facilities: a grinding section, a flux and bentonite section, a mixing and dosing section, pelletizing, roasting, sorting, gas cleaning, and sulfur oxide removal sections. It will also include buildings and structures for energy management, power supply, utility networks, etc.
The supply of the main technological equipment for the new complex, according to Severstal, will be carried out by a Chinese company (the name is not specified). Additional equipment and construction materials worth about 20 billion rubles. it is planned to purchase from domestic companies with priority to loading enterprises in the Vologda region, the release says.
