Comedian Chris Rock and a number of his colleagues did not want to host the Golden Globe Awards, CNN reports.
Chris Rock, who has already hosted the Oscars twice, turned down the offer to host the ceremony on January 7. American actress and stand-up Ali Wong also refused to participate in the show. The hosts of the “SmartLess” podcast – Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Sean Hayes – joined this company. Actresses Tina Fey and Amy Poehler also, as it turned out, are not eager to hold the ceremony this year.
“This is a thankless job,” experts explained. “It’s not worth it.” The reasons for refusals were also given as “a lot of politics”, “it’s not easy anymore”, “it’s not fun”.
The Golden Globe Awards are awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. It is awarded for achievements on film and television.
