Sergey Dregval appointed CEO of Inter RAO instead of Boris Kovalchuk

General Director of PJSC Inter RAO (MOEX: IRAO) Sergey Dregval was appointed instead of Boris Kovalchuk, reported company following a meeting of the board of directors. Kommersant’s sources reported that Mr. Kovalchuk will be promoted.

Sergey Dregval has worked in the electric power industry for more than 21 years. From 2007 to 2011, he worked as deputy general director of the Tomsk Energy Sales Company, and then as managing director and first deputy general director of Altaienergosbyt. In 2021-2024, Mr. Dregval served as vice-governor of St. Petersburg and oversaw the energy sector.

Boris Kovalchuk has worked at Inter RAO since June 2009. He was the acting chairman of the board of Inter RAO, and then was elected chairman of the board. Kommersant’s sources reported that Mr. Kovalchuk could be appointed head of Gazprom, Rosneft, deputy prime minister for the fuel and energy sector, or governor of St. Petersburg.
