According to The Wall Street Journal, one of the founders of Google Sergey Brin, who left the company’s management in 2019, returned to active work. According to the publication, the former president of Alphabet (the parent company of Google) began working on the program code related to the development of the company’s chatbot a few months ago. And now he visits the Google office in Mountain View, California three to four times a week and holds meetings with management and developers about the Gemini AI model and a new version of the search engine based on this model.
As you know, the founders of Google Larry Page and Sergey Brin left their leadership positions, but remained members of the company’s board and are still its largest shareholders. When handing over the leadership in 2019 to Sundar Pichai, the founders promised that they would occasionally give him advice and support him in every possible way if necessary. At the same time, both claimed that they were not going to regularly give him instructions on how to manage Google. According to WSJ sources, Sundar Pichai himself is “enthusiastic about Brin’s participation and encourages his contribution” to the development of Google products.
