Film director, actor and producer Sergei Ginzburg spoke for the first time about his divorce from actress Yana Poplavskaya, with whom he had been married for a quarter of a century. He lifted the veil of secrecy about this and his new relationship with actress Olga Vinichenko in an interview with the publication WomanHit.
According to Ginzburg, he met his current wife Olga when he “was on a break.” The director admitted that if he had not been interested, nothing would have happened.
Olga, in turn, admitted that Ginzburg for a long time – two and a half years – did not sign up to himself on an emotional level. And she, the actress admits, wanted more openness.
“Knowing about his previous experiences, I probably knew somewhere in the depths of my soul that such a day would come someday,” Vinichenko said.
Answering the question of how the director endured a difficult divorce from Poplavskaya, he said that fortunately, people are different. But he suggested that the breakup was the reason for his closed nature.
“You didn’t have to sit with me, I could cope with any pain. By the way, Yana and I had mutual friends, and she set a condition for them not to communicate with me. And for me it is more important that they remained, and there is no point in regretting those who disappeared. This means that they were not friends,” concluded Sergei Ginzburg.
