SBU confirms receipt of data stolen from MosgorBTI website – Kommersant

The head of the cybersecurity department of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Ilya Vityuk, said that the SBU received data from the website of the Moscow City Bureau of Technical Inventory (MosgorBTI) hacked on August 7. The site collects information about the owners of real estate in Moscow.
MosgorBTI provides services for the technical inventory of real estate, issues accounting and technical documentation, and also carries out cadastral work on objects in Moscow and the Moscow region. Services are provided to legal entities and individuals, as well as government agencies.
“Now we know what kind of real estate Russian politicians, military and special services own,” Mr. Vityuk said during the iForum forum of Internet figures in Kyiv (quote from The Record). He did not disclose the hacker group responsible for the hack, noting that those who carry out cyber attacks on Russia will be reported after the end of the military conflict.
August 7 Press Service of the Moscow Economic Policy Complex confirmedthat the MosgorBTI website was hacked by hackers. On its main page, the attackers wrote that the site’s infrastructure and databases had been destroyed. They also claimed to have given the Ukrainian Defense Forces information about civil servants, politicians, military and intelligence agencies supporting the military operation. The metropolitan department assured that no data leakage was allowed and hackers got access only to the materials on the site. As of today, August 10, at 22:37 Moscow time, the site is still unavailable, but the hackers’ messages are no longer on it.
