Sbermarket: 90% of Russians will spend less than 10 thousand rubles on the New Year’s table

Meet the amount of 10 thousand rubles. 90% of Russian residents are counting on purchasing products for the New Year, 10% are ready to spend more than 15 thousand rubles, the results of a survey of the Sbermarket service and the Rusopros agency showed. The older generation of Russians prefers to put meat, caviar and jelly on the New Year’s table, the younger one – Caesar salad.
97% of respondents (a total of 1,000 people from 15 cities of Russia took part in the survey plan to prepare dishes for the New Year’s table on their own. Most of the respondents will buy meat, cheese, vegetables, fruits and sausages by the New Year, 60% will also put confectionery on the table.
“According to the survey, men prefer to see meat and vinaigrette on the festive table, and women prefer sandwiches with caviar,” says a press release from Sbermarket (Kommersant has it).
Only 11% of male respondents and 14% of women plan to celebrate the New Year without alcoholic beverages. More than 60% of the men surveyed will put strong drinks on the New Year’s table.
On December 16, Rosstat reported that the products for cooking Olivier in the country for the year have risen in price by 8.5%. Ingredients for another traditional New Year’s dish, “herring under a fur coat” (+5.5%), also went up in price.
