According to RBC, in Moscow, Sberbank terminals do not require customers to enter a pin code when buying more than 2 thousand rubles, when buying from 3 thousand rubles. the pin code is still required. Sberbank did not answer the question of the publication about the size of the new limit.
In 2020, Visa and Mastercard payment systems recommended increasing the payment limit without a PIN code to 3,000 and 5,000 rubles. respectively. Russian banks did not apply these recommendations.
