Sberbank raises rates on ruble deposits, maximum yield is 12%

Sberbank announced an increase in rates on ruble deposits. The changes take effect today, August 17th. The maximum rate is 12%.
“In connection with the increase in the key rate of the Bank of Russia, Sberbank increased the yield on ruble deposits. The increased rates came into effect on 17 August. The maximum rate on them is now 12% per annum,” Sberbank said in a statement (Kommersant has it).
The press service of the bank clarified that a rate of 12% is available to customers who open deposits of the “Best%” line for three years and increase the balance of term ruble deposits, including by transferring funds from foreign currency deposits.
August 15 following the results of an extraordinary meeting of the Bank of Russia raised the key rate immediately by 3.5 basis points – up to 12%. According to the regulator, this is enough for inflation to return to 4% in 2024 in the absence of new shocks.
