The volume of loans issued to housing developers in Sberbank for eight months of 2022 reached 1.2 trillion rubles. This is one and a half times more than in the same period last year.
According to the deputy head of the board of Sberbank Anatoly Popov, in January-August the bank received 1,350 applications for loans from developers. “This is actually the same as last year,” he said (quoted by RIA Novosti).
According to Popov, in the first four months of 2022, the results of the bank in issuing loans to developers were 15% lower than a year earlier, but then the housing construction market restored demand for project financing.
Now Sberbank finances the construction of 46.6 million square meters. m of housing, it accounts for 55% of all loans to residential real estate developers, said the deputy head of the board of Sberbank.
Since April, the bank has seen a recovery in demand from developers, the top manager continued, and developers are preparing new projects not only in economy or comfort, but even in the luxury class, where the cost per square meter starts from 2 million rubles.
According to forecasts, in 2022 Sberbank will conclude more than 2 thousand new loan agreements for housing financing in the amount of about 2.5 trillion rubles, Anatoly Popov said.
