Sberbank (MOEX: SBER) expects to resume accepting applications for IT mortgages in the near future, said Alexey Leypi, director of the Domklik division of the bank. He did not give a specific date. According to him, Sber has exhausted the limit of state support for issuing IT mortgages.

“We expect that the corresponding decree of the Russian government will come into force in the near future. Of course, after this, Sber will resume accepting applications for IT mortgages,” Mr. Leipi assured on the sidelines of the Sber conference on residential real estate (quote from TASS).

The preferential IT mortgage program started in May 2022. It can be applied for by Russians who officially work in organizations that operate in the field of information technology and are accredited by the Ministry of Digital Development. In this case, the employee must be employed in an accredited IT company for at least five years.

During the duration of the preferential program, Sberbank issued more than 25 thousand mortgage loans worth more than 198 billion rubles. Bank stopped accept applications for IT mortgages on February 4. Applications are also accepted stopped Promsvyazbank, MTS Bank and Bank St. Petersburg.
