Sberbank challenged the decision on the bankruptcy of its European subsidiaries in the EU court

Sberbank filed lawsuits against the decision of the Single Resolution Board (SRB) in the EU court in Luxembourg. The Board previously authorized the liquidation of the Austrian Sberbank Europe AG and the bankruptcy of its subsidiaries in Croatia and Slovenia. The relevant information is published in the Official Journal of the EU.
As follows from the data of the magazine, the lawsuits were filed in August. Information about them appeared in the magazine today, November 21.
According to claims, Sberbank wantsthat the court annul the decision of the SRB to assess the conditions in taking action against Sberbank Europe AG, after which the bank was liquidated. The bank also demanded a review of SRB’s decisions on settlement schemes for its subsidiary in Croatia Sberbank dd and Slovenian Sberbank banka dd As a result, the shares of the former were transferred to Hrvatska Postanska Banka (Post-Bank of Croatia), banking and financial group in Slovenia).

In March, Sberbank accepted decision to stop working on the European market. The company explained that their “daughters” in the EU faced a large outflow of cash. The company announced plans to sell its assets in the EU. At the same time, the Austrian Financial Market Supervisory Authority banned Sberbank Europe to work in the country.
