Sales of Kaspersky Lab in a consumer segment in 2022 decreased by 15%

“Kommersant” got acquainted with the annual financial report global business “Kaspersky Lab”, a vendor of solutions in the field of cybersecurity. According to the data provided in the document, the company’s global unaudited revenue under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFSR) amounted to $752 million, an increase of 0.03% compared to the previous year. The company acknowledges that in 2022, geopolitical factors, including increased tensions in international relations, have affected business.

Revenue from global sales in the corporate segment (B2B) grew in money by 8% compared to the previous year, follows from the report (the company does not provide financial sales figures). The report notes that last year, cyber attacks on industrial enterprises were relevant for the whole world, which led to a 54% increase in sales of the profile solution Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity.

However, in the consumer segment (B2C), sales in 2022 decreased by 15% year-on-year, follows from the company’s message. The first and second quarters of 2022 showed a decrease in sales in money terms by 16% and 18%, respectively, compared to the same periods of the previous year. In the third quarter of 2022, the decline in sales slowed down and amounted to 1% year-on-year, and by the fourth quarter, sales showed an increase of 15% year-on-year. In Russia, sales of Kaspersky Lab as a whole increased by 51%.

One of the main strategic decisions of Kaspersky Lab is the transfer of storage and processing of data on cyber threats, on the basis of which the company’s products operate in several countries, to Switzerland, to Zurich. The Kommersant company reported that the decision to transfer data processing centers for each country is made taking into account the specifics of the market and customer requirements. “The company has moved cyber threat data centers for its customers in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, the United States, and several countries in the Asia-Pacific region.” The company also has new Transparency Centers in the US, Japan, Singapore, Italy and the Netherlands.
