Sales of Apple smartphones in China fell by 24% – Kommersant

According to the results of the first six weeks of this year, sales of Apple smartphones in China fell by 24%, reports Bloomberg, citing data from Counterpoint Research. And if at the beginning of 2023 the American company was the leader in the Chinese market, now it occupies only fourth place there, behind local manufacturers.
Vivo became the leader in the market based on the results of one and a half months, whose market share is 17.6%. It is followed by Huawei (16.5%), which increased sales by 64% thanks to the launch of the Mate 60 Pro, and Honor (16.3%). Apple’s market share is now just 15.7%, down from 19% a year earlier.
Overall, the Chinese smartphone market is noticeably shrinking. In the first six weeks of the year, sales fell 7% year on year, and besides Huawei, only Honor among the major manufacturers achieved sales growth, but by only 2%.
